My husband walked the 600+ mile Camino de Santiago using just three shirts and washing one each night. The other two shirts were bamboo and some sort of polyester. This merino wool shirt was by far his favorite. He said it protected from the sun, breathed nicely, and was the quickest one to air dry when he hand washed it. He has since recommended to his friends and purchased a second one.
I e used this for cold water kayaking, hiking, and all things outdoors. 10/10 Merino Wool base layer. It is thin, but does provide warmth as a base layer in the cold, and isn't too hot if you wear it in the summer. Love this shirt and it incredibly easy to wash.
We get cold but sometimes it changes in the middle of the day. Anything too heavy can become miserable quickly. These are warm when needed and cool enough to leave on when it suddenly heats up. I don’t buy any brand.
I use microwool layers year round, as they provide a comfortable underlayer during winter or comfortable single layer during summer to keep the sun off my arms. A really nice feature of microwool is that it doesn't retain odor, unlike polyester layers. I bought several so I can wear them every day.
This product feels great and I will be replacing more of my camping wear in the future. Love the color of the Heather Gray. I'm fairly lanky and usually wear between a small and a medium. Medium was a good choice for my arm length and overall fit!
